Getting To Akita International Airport

Akita Airport is a small local/third class airport, situated about 14 kilometers southeast of Akita station in the town of Akita, in the prefecture of Akita, Japan. It is also known as Akita Airport because it is located in the Akita National Park and is home to all of the major airports in Japan such as Narita International Airport, Haneda Airport and Tokyo International Airport. There are direct flights to the country of Japan from most cities of the world, but some other international airports as well that fly to Akita can be accessed from other places.

Airport parking is available near the airport where you will need to park yourself and arrange for the vehicle to be driven to your hotel and then drove back to the airport terminal. It is advised that you visit the airport early in order to find out what the special rules are in regard to parking during the flight. Many airlines will charge additional fees if you park on the parking lots or take up space in the airport parking lot.

After parking the car you should proceed to the boarding area of the airport, which is found near the main gate of the airport. Before entering the gate you may want to turn on your lights and do a walk around the area, checking for possible hazards to avoid as well as any potential problem areas to look at and to inspect before you board your plane. If the area looks good then proceed to the security checkpoints where security guards may either pat down your clothing and inspect your belongings or check your bags and luggage for further inspection.

Once inside the security gates, you will be required to remove your shoes prior to stepping foot onto the plane. When you step onto the plane you will need to put on your footwear and you will need to keep them on throughout your flight. Your shoes will then be taken away from you once your flight is over and they will be placed in a locker area. After you have retrieved your shoes, you can go to the restrooms where you will change into your flight clothes and shoes. Your shoes should be in the same locker area until you get your baggage removed from the plane.

Upon removing your shoes and clothing from the airplane you will be given boarding passes. You will then need to get your bags from the baggage area and bring them to your designated room. This room is called a terminal and it is where you will spend the night before you fly home. This room has its own bathroom and is located close to the plane, which is located about two hundred meters away from your designated hotel room.

Akita is considered one of the better cities for accommodation and is not as expensive as other towns of similar size. The accommodation is also not as expensive as the others in this part of the country, making the flight relatively affordable.
